For grown-ups
Designed with the ICO Age Appropriate Design Code (the UK Children's Code) in mind: high privacy by default, nothing collected beyond what a child needs to keep their own progress.
🔒 No email, no personal details
A child joins with a first name only and gets a six-letter code. No email address, no phone number, no location, no photos, no advertising IDs.
🚫 No ads, no chat, no buying
Children can't talk to others, buy anything or see adverts. There is no leaderboard and nothing is shared with other children. The only link out is the one shown at the end of a round, to our own spelling app, and it opens in a new tab.
🎯 Curriculum-based
Questions follow the National Curriculum for KS1 (Years 1–2) and KS2 (Years 3–6).
🧠 Greater Depth
Reasoning, missing-number and multi-step problems in the style of the KS1 and KS2 SATs.
💛 Kind feedback
Wrong answers show the correct answer gently. No timers, no pressure, no streaks that punish a mistake.
⏸️ Healthy use
Rounds are short (10 questions) and Erik suggests a break at the end of each one.
🗑️ Easy to remove
Every question is stored against the child's code so they can watch themselves improve. Type the code below to delete that child's account and everything in it, permanently.
🧩 Made for every kind of learner
- No timers, ever. Children can take as long as they need on every question.
- 🔊 Read it to me reads each question out loud, which helps early or struggling readers.
- 🌙 Calm mode (on the main screen) stops Erik moving and softens the colours. It is remembered on that device. If the device is set to reduce motion, the app stays still anyway.
- One question at a time, short rounds of 10, gentle feedback and no ads or pop-ups.
📱 Put Roar & Solve on your phone
There is nothing to download and no account to make — the app lives at this address:
roar-and-solve-maths.lovable.app
iPhone, iPad or Apple tablet
- Open the address above in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow).
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
- Tap “Add”. Erik appears as an app icon.
Can’t see “Add to Home Screen”? You’re probably in Chrome, or the address opened inside another app — open it in Safari instead. On a school iPad or a child-restricted iPhone, a grown-up may need to allow it in Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions.
Android phone, tablet or Chromebook
- Open the address above in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots at the top right.
- Tap “Add to Home screen”.
- Tap “Add”. Erik appears as an app icon.
No email address, no password, nothing to buy. The icon is only a shortcut back to the app, so it is fine to put it on more than one device.
Same code, every device. Start on the phone, carry on on the tablet — type the child’s six-letter code and their stars and badges come back with them.
